My Message

I'm participating in the Multi Grouse Grind Challenge to raise funds for BC Children's Hospital. I’m reaching out to family and friends to support me by making a one time donation.

My goal is to complete 11 or more consecutive Grinds on June 21, the longest day of the year. Participants start at 4:00 am and have until 10:00 pm to get through the gates for one last grind. Last year I completed 13 grinds in one day, and battled severe cramping (for 8 hours). My personal best has been 14 consecutive grinds in one day (2016).

Even though this is one of the most painful events I have ever done, I can't imagine the pain that some of the children at BC Children's Hospital endure, or how stressful it can be for their families. I'm doing this to suport them and give back to the community. As a child, I had two operations at Children's Hospital, my brother had one, and now my son is currently getting treatment there.

We are so fortunate and blessed to have the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to children in our community.

If you are able to support me with either a donation or joining me for a Grind (or two!) during the day, that would be awesome! :)

Some fun facts:
> Length: 2.9 km (1.8 mi)
> Elevation gain: 853 metres (2,800 ft)
> Total Stairs: 2,830
> 11 grinds has the equivalent elevation to climbing Mount Everest
> My personal best time: 39:21
> My personal best multi-grind in one day: 14 grinds (averaged about 50 mins each grind)
> Average Time: On average it takes up to an hour and a half to complete the hike. For novice hikers, two hours is recommended.
> Participants: Hikers range in age from 7 to 90, with an equal male/female split.

Thank you in advance for your support!
