Please join me in supporting my efforts to raise funds to help conquer childhood illnesses through the 2023 愛心大行動 RISE for BC Kids.
Your support will help our Research Institute purchase the following three pieces of cutting-edge equipment, helping us replace aging technology while adding much needed capacity and efficiency across many areas of medical research:
Mass Spectrometer
This device is used to study molecules across a range of areas including cancer, mental health, and gastrointestinal diseases. The current mass spectrometers are booked for months in advance, so an additional machine would speed up test results and allow for new types of tests.
Gas Chromatograph
A gas chromatograph separates the chemical components of a sample and is used to research cardiovascular diseases, cancers and nutrition. The current machine is 15 years old, so a new version would provide higher test sensitivity and better results.
High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC)
An HPLC identifies and analyzes biomarkers, which are small molecules that can act as a signal of health or disease. It is used in many areas of research including cancers, metabolic diseases, nutrition and diabetes. Researchers would like to replace the current 20-year-old machine so they can run more advanced tests.
Every gift, no matter how small, brings researchers a step closer to the next big breakthrough. I invite you to join me as we invest in the future and leave an exceptional legacy for our children.
