Please join me in supporting Balding for Dollars.
Balding for Dollars raises community awareness for childhood cancer and blood disorders, provides funding to support the oncology program at BC Children's Hospital, and supports kids and their families throughout their journey.
Over the last 1.5 years and as we continue our journey as an Oncology family, Balding for Dollars has been with us every step of the way. They stock the family lounge with non-perishable food items, granola bars and other snacks, coffee and tea. We've been provided with Safeway gift cards as well. In December 2022 when we weren't sure if we'd be able to go home for Christmas, we got great swag bags from Balding for Dollars full of comfort and other items. They also had 2 elves come to the family lounge to tell jokes and host a Christmas Sing-a-long. They provide getaways for parents and next week we'll be attending their Sibling Appreciation event.
I want to give back to Balding for Dollars for all that they have done, and continue to do, for us. I've been growing my hair for over a year in order to do a "big cut" at the Main Event on May 11. I've grown it long enough that I will also be able to donate my hair. Balding works with Wigs for Kids BC and Eva & Co Wigs so that all BCCH Oncology patients who want a wig can have one. One wig takes hair from 15-20 donors and would ordinarily cost $1500-$3000.
You can help by making a secure online donation to my fundraising page.
Thank you for your support.
