My sister and I were both born premature.  I was born at 35 weeks and my sister Naya was born at 28 weeks!

Luckily, other than low blood sugar, I never experienced any health problems as a result of my prematurity.  I can't say the same for my sister Naya.

Naya was born 109 days in the NICU.  

She suffered a Brain bleed at Day 7 of life

Heart surgery at Day 10 of life.

Naya has Hydrocephalus

Naya's had 29 surgeries

Naya has 2 VP shunts

Naya is my best friend. And I miss her so much when she has to go live at the hospital. 

I am pledging to run this RBC Race for the Kids for my sister and for all the other kids in BC who wouldn't be alive today without BC Children's Hospital!
