Urgent Need of Surgical Telescope!
Please Join Me in Supporting BC Children's Hospital.
Each year, nearly 8,000 surgical procedures, including appendectomies, are performed at the hospital. For each of these surgeries, a surgical telescope provides surgeons with exceptional magnified visualization and views of the surgical site at a range of angles. Since the telescope can change angles, clinicians don't need to switch between multiple tools; possibly reducing procedure time and the amount of anesthesia a child requires.
The surgical telescope also allows clinicians to perform minimally invasive surgeries, so children experience less pain and minimal scarring. Ultimately, this could mean a child recovers more quickly and goes home sooner.
Make It Up Fundraising Campaign
We are a student-run organization on a mission to help children with chronic illnesses to creatively express themselves, as well as, to fundraise for BC Children's Hospital.
Research has shown the benefits of art in the healing environment to reduce stress and promote faster recovery. We are a group of student volunteers helping critically ill children bring their creativity to life by producing their own animated short stories. These are aspiring stories of the children's experience while they received treatment at BC Children's Hospital.
Please visit our website at makeitup.ca to watch the animations and support these patient children!
