This month the Adult Custody Division will be participating in Jean Up (previously Jean Day), with a goal of raising funds to help kids at BC Children's Hospital get out of their hospital gowns and back into their jeans.
Last year, 100,000 patients visited BC Children’s Hospital—the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to kids. BC Children’s Hospital provides specialized treatments to children with devastating, and often life threatening illnesses. Fundraising initiatives in support of BC Children’s Hospital help to pay for specialized equipment, research into childhood diseases, supports and services for sick kids and their families.
Due to Jean Up being a month long initiative this year, BC Corrections Adult Custody Division will be setting May 26, 2022 as our official Jean Up Day to mark the end of our fundraiser, and a day for staff to wear jeans in support of BC Children’s Hospital. Our fundraising target for the month of May is $2000.
