Those of you who know me are probably aware that I have quite a bit of hair! I started growing my hair out about 7 years ago with not much plan in mind besides trying it for fun and eventually donating it. After hearing about Balding for Dollars, it seeemed the prime opportunity to continue a positive start to the year not only for myself, but for others by trying to bring some more smiles and love into the world.
Cancer has been a part of my life, as is the case with many of those who are interested or parrticipating in this campaign. From losing my grandfather to lung cancer, to family members’ choosing elective surgery to decrease risk personal factors, cancer has made its impact on my life. If contribution through cutting my hair and running a small fundraiser help move towards the end of others’ suffering, personal or second hand, it is well worth it.
On May 6th, 2023 I will be cutting off and donating much of my hair to BC Children’s. I invite anyone reading this brief note to join in and lend a hand themselves in any way that they can, whether that be donating to the fundraiser, donating hair themselves, or even just spreading the word across social media.
I would like to thank you for your time in reading though this note, and an even bigger thank you for your support, however you choose to give it.
Please join me in supporting Balding for Dollars.
Balding for Dollars raises community awareness for childhood cancer and blood disorders, provides funding to support the oncology program at BC Children's Hospital, and supports kids and their families throughout their journey.
You can help by making a secure online donation to my fundraising page.
Thank you for your support.
